dc.description.abstract | Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) is one of biomass waste from palm oil that can be used for kertas production. Selection of EFB is based on the availability, besides that waste treatment of EFB is still rarely done in Indonesia. The production of kertas is consisting of four steps, pre-treatment, cooking, bleaching, and post-treatment. First, the EFB size will be reduced to to adjust its size to the specifications of the tool used. The EFB will also go through a temperature and pressure adjustment process to suit operating conditions. After that, EFB will enter into the bleaching process, where the bleaching process is the most important main process in making this pulp. EFB that enters the mixer will be reacted with H2O2. From the bleaching process, a brightness of 82% is obtained. The output of the Rotary Drum Vacuum Filter enters the drum dryer to remove moisture content and is dried until it has a moisture content of 5%. Then the pulp sheet is flowed to the head box, after that to wire part and the paper is printed on the drum reel and then the paper is obtained. The location of the factory was established in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra with a land area of 37,041 m2 . To operate this factory, a workforce of 210 people is needed with a Public Limited Company as a form of business entity. This company will be led by a main director with a line and staff system as the structure of the leadership system Economic analysis and evaluation were carried out to determine the feasibility of establishing this company.
