    Abstract
Lukito Wijaya. 106116022. Conflict Reporting in Online Media (Analysis of Framing Conflict Reporting on Kompas.com about Riots in Papua) This research discusses conflict reporting triggers in Papua. The purpose of this study is to describe how Kompas.com frames conflict reporting triggers in Papua in August 2019. This study analyzes the meaning of conflict reporting triggers as reported by Kompas.com. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with constructivist paradigm. Data collection technique through observation and documentation techniques that discuss the focus of research. This research uses the analysis method of framing Zhong Dang Pan & Gerald M. Kosicki. This study concludes that conflict reporting triggers is reflected through latent conflict and manifest conflict. Latent conflict over the police and students from Papua on different occasions put forward mediation and negotiations in an effort to resolve misunderstandings related to the alleged procurement of Indonesian flag. The manifest conflict arose a compilation of alleged Indonesian flag transportation of one of the students from Papua resulting in the enraged enrichment of a group of mass organizations. The manifest conflict also sought to increase the strength of the security forces in its success in forcibly transporting Papuan students and also brought challenges. The research results also reflect the stereotypes of two categories, namely security officers and mass organizations which are interpreted as dominant parties, and Papuan students as oppressed parties. Framing on multiple articles also varies. Article 1 frames students from Papua as the place for delivering the red and white flag Article 2 becomes a defence for the Papuan Student Alliance by denying those who violate the Red and White Flag. Articles 3 and 4 frame the police representative as the dominant party and represent the representative in the riot event in Surabaya and empower the trigger of related conflicts in the meaning of words that can be seen from the rhetorical element.
