dc.description.abstractHuman rights violations in Afghanistan caused by the Taliban have drawn the attention and concern of the international community. The Taliban group carried out gender-based oppression and attacks on women in August 2021. Under the Taliban's leadership, Afghan women experienced restrictions in their daily lives. Women were not allowed to pursue education up to university and were not allowed to work. Afghanistan as a country where there are issues of human rights violations caused by the Taliban is an important topic for Amnesty International to fight for the rights of Afghan women. Amnesty International is a non-governmental organization that focuses on the global human rights movement. Amnesty International as a Non-Governmental Organization according to David Lewis as "Voluntary Associations" that provide a change in their environment to achieve better goals. Voluntary Associations have roles namely; Advocacy and Campaigns, Social Services. Amnesty International aims to advocate for human rights violations and abuses in Afghanistan. In its efforts, Amnesty International conducts a number of advocacy, campaigns and social services to give back the rights of women in Afghanistan. This research paper aims to describe Amnesty International's efforts to protect women in Afghanistan in 2021-2023. Amnesty International and other international groups have been monitoring the situation and progress of women's lives in Afghanistan. Amnesty International has monitored the development of the rights of women who immigrated to several neighboring countries such as Pakistan to European countries to regain their right to life. Amnesty International works with Afghan women's advocates to provide encouragement and efforts so that Afghan women can regain their rights. This research uses a literature study method with a descriptive analytical approach to examine Amnesty International's efforts through the Non-State Actor perspective.en_US
