This research focuses on the synthesis of thin films as photoanodes based on SnO2 synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) and hydrothermal methods, with the objective of conducting a modified photoelectrochemical study of the results of spray pyrolysis at a certain volume variation of CQDs solution. The variation of CQDs solution on SnO2 thin film photoanode is 5, 7, and 10 mL. SnO2 microstructure material has spherical morphology with atomic concentration of Sn and O. Photoelectrochemical research using Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV) and Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) methods showed that SnO2 thin film with CQDs solution volume variation of 5 mL gave the optimum photocurrent density of 0.0156 mA/cm2 with the optimum photoconversion efficiency (PCE) of 0.0067%. In addition, the SnO2/CQDs sample with the addition of 5 mL obtained a double layer capacitance (Cdl) of 0.1287 mF/cm2. The results show that SnO2/CQDs thin films can increase the active sites of SnO2 for photoelectrochemical water splitting processes.en_US
