dc.description.abstract | Methanesulfonic Acid (CH3SO3H) is produced from Methane (CH4) and Sulfur Trioxide
(SO3). By using the waste gas produced from the Embalut PLTU, the production of
Methanesulfonic Acid can be produced from the Flue Gas by using SO2 compounds which will
be oxidized to form SO3. So that SO3 reacts with CH4 to produce the desired product, namely
MSA. Methanesulfonic Acid produced in this process produces 98%. With this purity the
product compound can have many benefits in various industrial fields. This plant is designed
to be able to produce a high-value product using emission gas discharged by the industry, so
that it becomes a solution to environmental problems and also becomes a factory profit. The
capacity of flue gas used for processing is about 4000 tons / day and produces Methanesulfonic
Acid product compounds of 29,000 tons / year with continuous operation for 330 days per year.
This plant was built in the city of Samarinda, East Kalimantan Province based on the location
that has been considered. From the results of the design, an economic analysis was carried out
to determine the feasibility of the plant with the following results. For total capital investment
in the results worth Rp3,659,061,817,499.79, Total Production Cost (Rp1,711,853,410,115.56),
Total Sales per Year (Rp3,004,668,544,065.98), Profit after tax (Rp1. 905,470,312,093,700),
(ROI) before tax (353.3187%), Simple Payback Period (8.7737 years), Discounted Payback
Period (12.05 years), Break Even Point (BEP) (24.9031%), Shutdown Point (SDP) (11.8556%).
Based on the analysis values obtained, the plant is very feasible to be applied in Indonesia. | en_US |
