PENINGKATAN PROSES ORDER PICKING DENGAN MINIMASI JARAK TEMPUH PADA GUDANG PT CIPTA KRIDA BAHARI
Abstract
The digital technology era has introduced new ways for companies to collaborate, driving
the growth of outsourcing, which is considered to provide added value to customers and
maintain profitability. One of the key activities that support warehouse operational
performance is order picking. Errors in the order picking process can lead to financial losses
and decreased warehouse performance. This study aims to improve order picking
performance at PT Cipta Krida Bahari (CKB), one of the largest warehouse providers in
Indonesia. The research focuses on designing a storage layout within PT CKB's warehouse
using the Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) model to minimize travel distance during
order picking activities. The study proposes two alternative layouts, and the results indicate
that the redesigned layout can reduce order picking distances and improve order picking
utilization. Specifically, Layout 2 increased utilization by 13%, while Layout 1 resulted in a
3% improvement. The increase in utilization enhances warehouse performance, particularly
in order picking operations.
