    Abstract
PETRONAS Group Technical Solutions developed a new Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for PETRONAS Chemicals Ammonia Sdn Bhd (PCASB) facility to ensure compliance with the CIMAH 1996 Regulations. The study was driven by the handling of hazardous materials such as hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, and ammonia, which are flammable and toxic. The QRA sought to assess Major Accident Hazards (MAHs) such as Loss of Primary Containment (LOPC), fires, and explosions, as well as create Location-Specific Individual Risk (LSIR) contours and societal risk contours (f-N curves) for the plant. The study followed PETRONAS Technical Standards 16.71.04 for Quantitative Risk Assessment, assuring consistency with best practices. Advanced tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Acrobat Reader, and PHAST & SAFETI version 8.6 software, were used to achieve accurate and reliable risk calculations.
