dc.description.abstract | Crude oil is the main raw material for producing fuel oil. Crude oil is obtained from the exploration area / field and collected in the Collection Station. The crude is then distributed to the Production Storage Center using road tanks and or pipes. The crude oil was distributed to the refinery unit for further processing through pipelines. The Function of Oil and Gas Transportaion in PT. Pertamina EP Asset 3 Cirebon has responsible to carry out the crude oil storage and distribution. The crude oil from the field is transported using pipelines and the process is carried out for 24 hours. So, it will not disturb the production process. The demand for crude oil lifting and or distribution to the Refinery Unit is carried out through coord with SKK Migas and PT Pertamina (Persero)’s Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) function in each period. However, in terms of distributing crude oil through the vessels can be changed, even though it has been previously approved. This has an impact on the planning and control of crude oil inventory at the Production Storage Center / Terminal, which can lead to the over-stock or stock out. That way, there is a need of a method that can handle crude oil volume control that will be distributed and the inventory of crude oil. The study was conducted by analyzing the system's description to identify problems and the output of the analysis would not the implemented directly. Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is a concept of managing inventory by production suppliers in accordance with the buyer's / consumer's approval. In this study, the supplier is PT. Pertamina EP Asset 3 and the buyer / consumer are Pertamina Refinery Units. The application of the Vendor Managed Inventory concept, as an approach in making policy decisions on crude oil scheduling and lifting control.
