The intense competition in the logistics sector necessitates companies to achieve maximum operational efficiency, particularly in core warehousing processes, inbound (goods receiving) and outbound (goods dispatch). This Internship Report aims to analyze, identify waste, and provide proposals for improving the efficiency of the inbound and outbound processes at Maersk Contract Logistics Marunda. This research adopts the Lean Manufacturing approach by applying the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework and the primary tool, Value Stream Mapping (VSM). In the Define phase, the main problems related to process efficiency are established. Subsequently, the Measure phase involves mapping the current process (Current State Map) using VSM and measuring cycle time to calculate the percentage of Value Added (VA) and Non-Value Added (NVA) activities. The VSM results indicate the presence of dominant waste (e.g., waiting, motion, or inventory) that causes a high process lead time. The Analyze phase is then conducted to determine the root causes of the identified waste. Based on this analysis, specific improvement proposals are formulated in the Improve phase, focusing on the elimination or minimization of the main waste. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to significantly reduce the process lead time, resulting in a leaner Future State Map, and ultimately enhancing the effectiveness and operational efficiency of logistics at Maersk Contract Logistics Marunda.en_US
