dc.description.abstract | In order to overcome the decline of crude oil production, it has been developed Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technology, namely the advanced stage of oil recovery in existing wells using surfactants. Surfactants injection has been used to reduce the interface tension between water-oil to recover trapping oil in a reservoir. This study aims to find the composition of the mix-surfactant in the formulation using lignosulfonates from coconut coir, by finding the lowest IFT value. Experiment in this study was to formulate lignosulfonate obtained with co-surfactant and alcohol. Four different formulations were evaluated for their performance in remobilizing residual oil with compatibility test, phase behavior and oil displacement experiments. All experiments were performed at room temperature and pressure. The F2 formulation gives the lowest IFT value 4.687 x 10-3 dyne / cm. Therefore, the surfactants produced from coconut coir can be used as an alternative source in EOR applications and are better when combined with co-surfactants and alcohol. | en_US |
