Batik waste in Indonesia contains dangerous substances that exceed normal thresholds. This study utilizes mango peel which has a functional group that can be useful for reducing these harmful contents. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum process variation in absorbing heavy metal ion Fe contained in batik waste. The method used is to apply physical and chemical activation at a certain temperature and then contact it with adsorbate. The results showed that the variation in process 4 was the best process variation by giving a removal percentage of Fe (batik waste) of 84.81%. The functional groups in mango peel are visible for all variations of the process, namely hydroxyl (-OH) derived from cellulose and hemicellulose also carboxyl (-COOH) derived from pectin. The most suitable isotherm for all process variations is Langmuir with R2 value of 0.9999 for the process variation 4. The adsorption mechanism is physisorption with an E value < 8 kJ/ mol based on the D-R isotherm. The reaction is spontaneous with delta G negativeen_US
