dc.description.abstractIndonesia is involved in a bilateral trade agreement with Japan, popularly known as the Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA). The agreement was officially signed in 2008. In general, this agreement has a wide scope with the aim of strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries. Despite the benefits and disadvantages, Indonesia remains involved in the IJEPA agreement. Therefore, this study aims to find out what motivates Indonesia to remain involved in IJEPA. To support the research, this research uses the framework of bilateral trade agreements, economic partnerships, to the factors that encourage a country to conduct bilateral trade agreements, as Jayant Menon explained in his article. As a result, there are a number of factors that motivate Indonesia to remain involved in IJEPA, namely general factors and specific factors.en_US
