dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze competitiveness and find out what are the factors that influence the competitiveness of Indonesian coal exports in the main destination market. The data used in this study is panel data, which is a combination of cross-sectional data, namely the top nine destinations for Indonesian coal exports and the time series for the period from 2011 to 2019. The commodity that is the focus of this study is coal with the Harmonized System (HS) classification. 2701 Coal; briquettes, ovoids, and similar solid fuels made from coal. The method used in this research is Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) analysis, which is used to identify the competitiveness of Indonesian coal exports in the main destination market. The panel data analysis, applied to analyze the factors that affect the competitiveness of Indonesian coal exports. The Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) method shows that Indonesia has strong competitiveness in nine main export destination countries. The estimation results of the panel data analysis show that the population of the destination country, economic distance, and the exchange rate of the Rupiah against the currency of the destination country (Rupiah/LCU) significantly affect the competitiveness of Indonesian coal exports. Meanwhile, tariff barriers imposed in destination countries and coal prices do not significantly affect the competitiveness of Indonesian coal exports. | en_US |
