    Abstract
    Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a semiconductor that has good photocatalytic activity in degrading an organic pollutant, is relatively inexpensive, and is harmless. This study aims to study the effect of the calcination process and the calcination temperature on the morphological crystallinity of TiO2 nanotubes, to study the effect of hydrothermal temperature on photocatalytic activity in degrading methyl orange dyestuffs. TiO2 nanotubes were synthesized from TiO2 P25 degussa using the hydrothermal method with several variations, TiO2 nanotubes were synthesized by reacting TiO2 P25 with 10 M NaOH at high temperature and pressure in a Teflon-coated autoclave. After that it was done with 0.1 M HCl and dispersion of the mixture in a pH 2 HCl solution. In the dispersion process, there will be an exchange between Na+ ions and H+ ions. Then the solid sample was dried in an oven and calcined at a temperature of 450℃. Based on the research, to get the best results of TiO2 nanotubes using the type B variation synthesis method. TiO2 nanotube type B variations have a band gap energy of 3.3262 eV, for photocatalytic testing at 240 minutes it can degrade methyl orange dye around 97 ,56%, and the average crystal size is 1.39 nm. The optimal temperature used to produce TiO2 nanotubes has a range between 120 - 180℃.
