    Abstract
    Communication apprehension, as anxiety behavior in communication situations, is an intensive problem to see the factors that influence communication apprehension behavior. The human population in this era has increased by 70%, challenges in the ability to communicate in public, which affect every aspect of an individual's life. This study aims to see the effect of communication apprehension as a learned behavior "learned helpness". Through the Social Learning Theory approach in observing the communication apprehension behavior that occurs in students of the communication study program at Pertamina University with a quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to a sample of 152 students. Behavior is reviewed through environmental aspects, namely Narcissists Parenting Styles and individuals in the form of Self Esteem. The results showed a positive correlation that Narcissists Parenting Styles and Self Esteem affect Communication Apprehension as a behavior that due to the lack of communication experience in the family so that they do not have the ability to retain at home to control communication situations that are not anxious.
