| dc.description | The purpose of this research is to see how the forms of sensuality of female characters in the animated series of One Piece are interpreted by Indonesian male audiences. This study uses a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method as an encoding process or to find the true meaning in a scene that contains an element of sensuality in it. Then it was followed by an analysis of Stuart Hall's reception to informants to find out what decoding or meaning was absorbed by the male audience who enjoyed the One Piece animated series. The results showed that the sensuality shown in the One Piece animated series was considered quite vulgar because it highlighted the exaggerated body of the female character, the facial expressions of the female character and the way she dressed. Even though the sensuality in the One Piece animated series was made in Japan, of course the sensuality of this animated series is influenced by Japanese sensuality, the male audience in Indonesia has the same meaning as what is shown. However, this was of course influenced by the religious and cultural backgrounds of the different informants. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat bagaimana bentuk-bentuk sensualitas dari karakter wanita dalam serial animasi One Piece dimaknai oleh penonton pria Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes sebagai proses encoding atau untuk mencari makna sebenarnya dalam potongan adegan yang mengandung unsur sensualitas di dalamnya. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan analisis resepsi Stuart Hall kepada para informan untuk mengetahui decoding atau makna apa yang diserap oleh para penonton pria yang menikmati serial animasi One Piece. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa sensualitas yang ditayangkan pada serial animasi One Piece dianggap cukup vulgar karena menonjolkan tubuh karakter wanita yang berlebihan, ekspresi wajah karakter wanita serta cara berpakaiannya. Meski sensualitas pada serial animasi One Piece dibuat di Negara Jepang yang tentunya tayangan sensualitas pada serial animasi tersebut dipengaruhi dengan sensualitas Jepang, Penonton Pria di Indonesia memiliki pemaknaan yang sama dengan apa yang ditampilkan. Namun hal itu tentu saja dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang agama serta budaya dari informan yang berbeda-beda. | en_US |
