dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to find out what the meaning of autism that shown in the South Korean Television Drama 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay'. This research uses a qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm. The data sources in this study are dialogues and scenes analyzed using the social semiotics method. The results of this study indicate that the meaning of autism shows a pattern of stereotypes, overrepresentation, and underrepresentation, all three of which can be interconnected. The meaning of autism displayed is the result of social construction reconstructed by the media.en_US
