dc.description.abstract | In a marine ships there are many rotating equipment, especially at the engine room. Where are these
equipment is a vital component to the ship as it is the main drive system in a ship. Because of that,
installation of each component is done with high accuracy and precision. One of many vital
component is the gearbox and the propeller. Gearbox is a component that will transfer the energy
produce by the main engine to the ship propulsion system so that the ship can move. Alignment of
gearbox and propeller is started by installing a vibration damper to the gearboxes foundation, and
followed by trimming and installation of it’s bolts. Alignment then finished by using torque tool. | en_US |
