Healthcare Supply Chain Management: Literature Review
Abstract
In recent years, research on supply chain management has begun to emerge, especially in
the health sector. The healthcare supply chain (HCSC) is an interesting topic to discuss because
the need for medicines and care services is very much needed during this pandemic. This study
will review several literature related to HCSC by discussing how these studies solve the supply
chain problems that are being faced. Then it will look for research gaps or what things have
escaped the researchers' observations. The aim is to help researchers identify deficiencies so
that improvements can be made and further researched in future research. The results of the
review show that the supply chain model designed tends to the economic / cost aspect or
sometimes only focuses on costs and patients. Whereas a supply chain is said to be good if it
can integrate three main aspects, namely economic, social and environmental. In addition, the
parameters used in the model are still minimal so that the results do not describe the real
system. Future research is expected to be able to examine more deeply to produce an HCSC
system that is able to solve real problems.
