ANALISIS PENGENDALIAN PERSEDIAAN BAHAN BAKU KAYU DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MATERIAL REQUIREMENT PLANNING (STUDI KASUS: PT. KAYU PERMATA)
Abstract
Inventory control is one of the aspects needed by companies, especially manufacturing companies. One result of the absence of inventory control can be of several kinds, such as a shortage or excess of raw materials, so that this can have an impact on fulfilling consumer orders and increasing inventory costs if there is an excess of raw materials. Fluctuating customer demand also encourages companies to carry out inventory control. The object of this research is PT Kayu Permata where the company is engaged in the door product industry on an international scale. The purpose of this research is to forecast demand and determine the appropriate lot sizing method based on the company's demand conditions. To determine the MPS that will be used in the MRP calculation, the authors use two forecasting results, namely forecasting from the company and forecasting results from the best method. Forecasting methods used in this study are ARIMA, Winter, and double exponential smoothing. The best request method is the double exponential smoothing method with an error of 20.21 which will then be used as MPS for MRP calculations. As for the lot sizing method used in this study, there are EOQ, LFL, and LUC. To get the total cost of ordering raw materials, six scenarios were made with reference to the type of forecasting results used and the lot sizing methods used. The best scenario is the scenario that produces the cheapest raw material ordering costs in scenario 4 using the company's forecasting results and the LFL method for MRP calculations.
