dc.description.abstractIndonesia is located in a tectonic region so that Indonesia is a country prone to earthquakes. It is necessary to design earthquake resistant buildings using the EBF configuration. This study aims to analyze the EBF configuration and bracing position on the behavior of steel apartment structures in order to determine the proper bracing configuration and position in planning. The EBF configuration used is Split-K EBF and V EBF at locations outside and inside the building. The parameters being compared are the force in the SAP2000 results, the period of the structure's vibration, mass participation, and the drift between floors. After obtaining the optimal EBF configuration and position, bolt connection planning is carried out. the building used as a model is a steel apartment located in Donggala, Central Sulawesi. This study found that V EBF in a building is the best configuration. The V EBF configuration excels in the parameters of the structure's vibration period, mass participation, and floor drift. The most effective bracing position is inside the building. Bresing inside the building excels on the parameters of the structure's vibration period, mass participation, and drift between floors. The biggest ultimate moment also occurred in V EBF Inside the Building. Based on the parameter analysis of the behavior of the EBF configuration that has been carried out, it was found that the V EBF configuration works better on structural behavior compared to the Split-K EBF configuration at both bracing locations. Based on the parameter analysis of the behavior of the EBF configuration that has been carried out, it was found that the location inside the building works better for the behavior of the building for all tested EBF configuration models compared to the location outside the building.en_US
