This research is entitled
"Tsunami Propagation Analysis Using the Combined Equivalent Roughness
Method: A Case Study of Painan City, West Sumatra, Indonesia". In this study, the
roughness coefficients used are taken from BNPB data and have different values
for objects such as water, buildings, land, and vegetation. After land-use
classification is conducted in the Painan City area, the results are divided into
several grids measuring 5 meters by 5 meters. From each grid, coordinate points
and their corresponding roughness values are taken and used in the simulation of
tsunami propagation in Painan City. The tsunami simulation is performed using the
COMCOT software from Cornell Multigrid. In this simulation, only one scenario
is used for the Padang Fault Zone with a duration of 120 minutes. The simulation
results provide information about the initial conditions and the process of tsunami
propagation. From this process, the distance of inundation resulting from the
tsunami can be calculated using the Equivalent Roughness Method (ERM), which
yields an inundation height of 4-6 meters
