    Abstract
In this research perovskite synthesis was carried out with the main ingredient being used battery paste and characterization tests were carried out. The process carried out to get to the perovskite synthesis stage is through several processes. The first process is desulfurization using variations of NaOH with concentrations of 20%, 30%, and 40% at 110°c in 2 hours with the result of desulfurization in the form of PbO. The result of desulfurization is that the greater the concentration of NaOH used, the smaller the resulting yield. The next process is the synthesis of lead halide, namely the reaction of PbO with iodide acid at 60°C for 45 minutes to produce PbI2. The results of the XRD characteristic test of PbI2 desulphurized using 30% NaOH showed that PbI2 was successfully prepared. The next process is perovskite synthesis by the reaction of PbI2 with FAI precursor and DMSO solvent at room temperature for 15 minutes. After the perovskite solution was made, drop casting was carried out with the glass preparation medium. Thin films were prepared at 100°C for 30 minutes. The resulting thin film is black which indicates the formation of the α-FAPbI3 phase. The perovskite characteristic test uses XRD to determine the peaks present in the sample and UV-VIS to determine the resulting band gap. The results of the perovskite characteristic test with XRD produced peaks that were similar to the database so that it could be concluded that α-FAPbI3 had been made. Whereas for the UV-VIS test, a bandgap was obtained, namely α-FAPbI3 of 1.44 eV and δ-FAPbI3 of 2.37 eV where these values are within the bandgap range of FAPbI3.
