PEMANFAATAN EKSTRAK ANTOSIANIN DARI PARIJOTO (Medinilla speciossa) SEBAGAI SENSITISER PADA DYE SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL (DSSC)
Abstract
Research on the Use of Anthocyanin Extract from Parijoto (Medinilla speciosa) as a Sensitizer in Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) aims to identify the presence of anthocyanin compounds in parijoto fruit and determine how much power can be produced from anthocyanin compounds as a sensitizer in DSSC using a variety of ethanol solvents, methanol, ethanol-citric acid (50:50), methanol-citric acid (50:50) by maceration method for 48 hours. The highest yield was methanol-citric acid extract from the fruit, namely 16.35%. Positive results in the identification of anthocyanin compounds when dripped with NaOH showed a color change from red to green-blue and when dropped with HCl there was no color change. The results of functional group characterization of fruit ethanol extract through FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra Red) analysis show the presence of -OH groups at a wave number of 3293 cm-1, -C=C aromatic at a wavelength of 1644 cm-1, and -C-O alcohol at a wavelength of 1019 cm-1, while from GCMS (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) analysis of the fruit ethanol extract there was a cyanidin structural framework at a retention time of 12.24 minutes with an m/z value of 243 m/z, and a %area of 1.09%. The power measurement in the fruit ethanol extract was 0.1516 mW and in the fruit ethanol-citric acid extract was 0.023 mW. The power produced shows that parijoto fruit extract has potential as a sensitizer in Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) applications.
