    Abstract
This research was conducted in the field of IUP PT Firman Ketaun, North Bengkulu, with the scope limited to coal seam B1, B2, B3, B4, C1, C2 and C3 Lemau Formation. Coal quality is generally obtained through laboratory analysis using coal core data, but it is quite time-consuming and costly. In this study, researchers tried to find a correlation between the deflection of geophysical log values and coal quality parameters that are expected to be able to assist in coal quality prediction activities during exploration activities. In addition, geophysical log values are also used in correlation analysis of the characteristics and interpretation of the depositional environment and its influence on the quality of coal formed. The research was conducted quantitatively and qualitatively using geophysical log data, coal quality and core photos. The method used was correlation coefficient to determine the correlation between geophysical log values and coal quality parameters; electrofacies analysis, stratigraphic sequence, and sulfur content to determine the coal deposition environment in the study area. The results show that the coal in the study area was deposited in a delta plain environment, and there is a correlation between density and coal quality parameters, namely calorific value and ash content, where the higher the density value in units of g/cc, the higher the ash content contained in the coal, while the lower the calorific value of the coal.
