The Internship at PPSDM Migas Cepu aims to enhance students' knowledge and skills in the oil and gas field, particularly in artificial lift equipment, focusing on Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) and troubleshooting. This activity involves understanding the types of ESP equipment on the surface, such as Well Head, Transformer, Variable Speed Drives (VSD), Junction Box (vent box), and subsurface equipment, such as motor, protector, gas separator/pump intake, pump unit, and power cable. The working principle of the ESP involves supplying electricity to the motor, which rotates the shaft and impeller, allowing fluid to enter through the intake and be pumped upwards for production. Common problems with ESP wells include overload, underload, gas lock, and gassy conditions. Overload is caused by high relay settings, fluid characteristics, and the presence of sand or mud, while underload results from low relay settings or inappropriate pump sizes. Gas lock and gassy conditions occur due to gas bubbles obstructing fluid flow. Handling these issues involves resetting relays, installing chokes, gas separators, and consulting with Production Engineers for the best solutions.en_US
