dc.description.abstractThe presence of the Digital Silk Road (DSR) is a form of China's initiative as part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) aimed at improving digital connectivity internationally, especially in BRI member countries and realizing China's ambition to become a global technology superpower and reduce dependence on foreign vendors. Various things are done as a form of realization of the DSR program, including building infrastructure to support digital transformation in the form of cloud computing development or better known as Cloud as an important component of the digital economy. This study aims to analyze how China takes advantage of the strategic position and large potential of Indonesia's telecommunications market in Southeast Asia through the development of cloud computing through several forms of activities and practices that also involve several private actors such as Alibaba, Tencent, and Huawei as Cloud experts . The researcher uses the concept of commercial diplomacy and qualitative methods with document-based data collection and interviews to describe the practices or activities carried out by Chinese representatives in the telecommunications sector as part of the DSR program. The results of the analysis obtained include cyber cooperation policies; promotion through the procurement of conferences, social media; cooperation with local partners such as Telkomsel, Indosat, CARRO, and SIRCLO; to individual commitments such as the visit of the ambassador and the presence of the Chinese delegation at international forums related to cloud computing.en_US
