    Abstract
Gas Migration through cement slurry and micro-annulus is a significant issue in gas-bearing zones, leading to well integrity problems. Microsilica also known as silica fume, has been used to improve cement properties and prevent gas migration. This study highlights the importance of considering additives like microsilica in cement formulations to optimize cementing processes and enhance well integrity. This study aims to determine the side effects of using microsilica in cement slurry and its impact on expanding cement with various tests conducted as part of research on expanding cement including density test, rheology test, thickening time test using HPHT Consistometer, uncrushed compressive strength test using Ultrasonic Cement Analyzer (UCA), and expansion ring test. This study’s findings suggest that the incorporation of microsilica in cement slurry can have a notable impact on the thickening time of the slurry, potentially influencing the overall performance of oil well cementing operations.
