    Abstract
This internship report examines the impact of emulsifiers on the stability and performance of oil-based drilling fluids, focusing on their role in maintaining emulsion integrity and enhancing drilling efficiency. Conducted at PT China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) Indo, the internship provided hands-on experience in various divisions, including drilling fluids, cementing, logistics, and equipment maintenance. Oil-based drilling fluids, known for their superior shale stability and high-temperature resistance, require emulsifiers to prevent phase separation and maintain optimal rheological properties. The study highlights the function of emulsifiers in reducing interfacial tension and achieving stable oil-water emulsions, ensuring consistent drilling performance. Through literature study and theoretical analysis, this report underscores the significance of emulsifiers in optimizing oil-based mud formulations for efficient and stable drilling operations.
