dc.description.abstractThe HPHT (High-Pressure, High-Temperature) filter press plays a critical role in evaluating the performance of drilling fluids under extreme conditions. Its primary function is to assess filtration control by measuring the fluid's ability to minimize filtration loss. This study focuses on the results obtained, the filtrate water from the HPHT test was measured at 4.7 mL, indicating that the mud has excellent filtration properties under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. This low filtrate volume suggests that the mud effectively minimizes fluid loss, which is crucial for maintaining wellbore stability and preventing formation damage. Additionally, the mud cake thickness was calculated to be 1.6 mm, signifying that it is both safe and elastic. This optimal thickness ensures a strong seal against the wellbore walls while maintaining flexibility. According to the theories drilling operations in such high pressure and high temperature environments can be very challenging. High-pressure and high-temperature (HPHT) environments are defined by conditions where the pressure exceeds 10,000 psi (690 bar) and temperatures surpass 300 °F (149 °C). These conditions represent significant operational challenges, requiring advanced technologies and methodologies to ensure safety and efficiency.en_US
