Analisis Hidrogeologi dan Kualitas Airtanah untuk Penggunaan Air Minum di Kecamatan Bukit Raya, Pekanbaru, Riau
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the hydrogeological characteristics and groundwater quality in Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru, Riau, and evaluate its feasibility as drinking water based on the standards of Permenkes No. 2 of 2023. Data were collected from 41 measurement points of groundwater physical parameters (19 bore wells and 22 dug wells), with 6 samples tested in the laboratory for chemical and bacteriological parameters. Groundwater level data were obtained from 22 dug wells, while geoelectrical analysis was conducted at 9 points using the Schlumberger configuration to identify aquifer and aquitard layers. The results showed that the study area is predominantly characterized by unconfined aquifers with resistivity values of 50–150 Ωm, with semi-confined aquifers also identified in several locations. Groundwater pH values ranged from 4.3 to 7.6, with TDS levels between 20–280 mg/L and EC levels from 40–550 µS/cm. Bacterial contamination by Total Coliform was detected in 4 out of 6 samples, with concentrations exceeding the threshold in 2 samples. Heavy metal content, such as aluminium (0.637–0.850 mg/L) and iron (1.18–3.35 mg/L), exceeded the standards in most samples. The Water Quality Index (WQI) analysis indicated that 1 sample was classified as "very poor," 3 samples as "poor," and 2 samples as "good." This study concludes that groundwater in the study area is not suitable for direct consumption without treatment. The use of water treatment technologies such as activated carbon filtration and disinfection is recommended, along with monitoring activities that may pollute the aquifer recharge zone
