dc.description.abstractThis report discusses the application of Optimal Well Design to reduce drilling and completion costs in marginal fields, which are characterized by high technical challenges and economic constraints. Several efficiency strategies were implemented, including the conductorless/reduce section method, the use of tubing API cemented section, the application of risk-based wiper trip, replacing Open Hole Triple Combo with Logging While Drilling (LWD), and a joint contracting scheme. These approaches aim to reduce rig days, minimize the use of high-cost materials, and mitigate operational risks without compromising well safety and integrity. The results indicate significant potential cost savings, improved productivity, and the enhancement of both technical and non-technical skills of the participant. This experience is expected to serve as a reference for implementing more efficient and sustainable well designs in the oil and gas industry.en_US
