    Abstract
NHY-01 Well is a development well located in East Kalimantan, Sangatta Field, operated by PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia. Optimizing casing design is crucial to ensure well integrity while minimizing operational costs, especially under various mechanical loads such as burst, collapse, and axial forces. This study aims to eval-uate the performance of different casing grades and configurations through sys-tematic load analysis and cost comparison. Using real data from NHY-01 Well, the analysis was conducted with the aid of StressCheck software, incorporating load scenarios such as pressure test, displacement to gas, cementing, and overpull. Three casing intervals were analyzed: 13-3/8” surface casing, 9-5/8” production casing, and 7” production liner. The results showed that higher-grade casings such as K-55 and C-75 offer superior safety margins under burst, collapse, and axial conditions, though at a higher cost. Meanwhile, J-55 casing, especially in 40 ppf configuration, provides an optimal balance between safety and economic feasibil-ity. All selected casing designs were verified to remain within the triaxial failure envelopes, ensuring mechanical reliability. In conclusion, the optimized casing de-sign effectively enhances structural integrity and cost efficiency by avoiding both overdesign and underdesign, thus supporting safe and sustainable well operations throughout the life of the NHY-01 Well.
