dc.description.abstractThis research with the theme of optimization with the binary system aims to obtain the value of utilization efficiency and the net cycle power of the brine utilized through the binary system, to find out whether the optimization is successful or not, and what might happen if the optimization fails. The well being analyzed is Well B-1 located in Field X in Italy. The working fluids used are Isopentane and Propane as a comparison between dry expansion and wet expansion types. The calculation results obtained are specific work of turbine, heat rejected to the cooling water, specific work of feed pump, heat transferred to the working fluid, cycle thermal efficiency, brine temperature at point B, the mass flow rate of working fluid, the mass flow rate of brine, brine outlet temperature, utilization efficiency, net cycle power, and specific net cycle power. No economic calculations are made. The final result of this research is that not all geothermal optimization processes can be successful, depending on the calculation parameters used.en_US
