This final project research is about the synthesis of green solvent that is low transition temperature mixture (LTTM) based on lactic acid and sucrose which is used for delignification process of rice straw. The purpose of this research are to determine the physical and chemical properties of LTTMs, then using it to determine the variation of the time effect on delignification process. The method of the synthesis LTTMs is a conventional heating in oil bath with temperature ±75 ℃, while the delignification process of rice straw using modificated microwave with high mode and 30, 40, and 50 seconds of time variations. LTTMs were successfully synthesized with molar ratio 7-1 and 10-1 of lactic acid and sucrose. Both of the ratio were used to determine the effect of the variations time delignification process with the solubility of lignin in LTTM. The variations of the time were determined by observing the solubility of lignosulfonic acid sodium salt that needs 30 seconds. Then the delignification process carried out during 40 and 50 seconds. Lignin content in LTTM 7-1 are 0.011%, 0.038%, and 0.083% (g/g). While at LTTM 10-1, lignin content are 0.012%, 0.034%, and 0.086% (g/g). The use of LTTM 10-1 can dissolve more lignin than LTTM 7-1.
