dc.description.abstract | Geology of Ciater area, Subang Regency, West Java with a study case: Hydrothermal Alteration Mineralogy of Domas Crate Area, Mount Tangkuban Parahu.
This study aims to determine the geological conditions of the Ciater area, Subang Regency, West Java as well as the presence of hydrothermal alteration in Domas Crater, Tangkuban Parahu Mountain. Administratively, the research area is located on the border of West Bandung Regency and Subang Regency with an area of ±40 km2. The method used in this research is mapping to collect primary data in the form of rock outcrop data in the research area which will be analyzed in laboratory studies and literature studies based on prevailing geological theory. Laboratory analyzes used include petrographic analysis and XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) analysis. The division of geomorphological units in the study area is hills of lava flows, volcanic cones, and pyroclastic plains. The rock units formed in the research area include the results of the eruption of the Sunda Volcano and Tangkuban Parahu Volcano which form of lava and pyroclastic deposit. The alteration zone formed in the study area is an advanced argillic alteration zone where the minerals cristobalite, tridymite, kaolinite, alunite, and quartz are found with temperatures <200ºC.
