dc.description.abstract | Geology and Structural Analysis of Ngawen and Its Surrounding Areas, Gunung Kidul Regency, D.I Yogyakarta Province.
This research is conducted in Ngawen, Gunung Kidul Regency, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The main purpose of the research is to understand the geological condition and spesifically to study the geology structural pattern of its surrounding area. Several analyzes conducted in this area including: geomorphological analysis, petrography, micropaleontology, and geological structure analysis (geometric, kinematic, and dynamic analysis) carried out to obtain the geological history of the study area. The method used in this research includes preparation, field data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and presentation preparation. The study area consist of three geomorphological units namely Ngawen Fold Hill unit, Baturagung Fold Block Hill Unit, Jiwo Isolated Hills Unit, and Denudational Plains Unit. The lineaments of the study area are north-south and northeast-southwest. Stratigraphy of the study area composed by five lithologies. In Oligocene to Early Miocene sandstone and claystone unit was deposited, with tuff unit also deposited in Early Miocene, followed by limestone unit in Middle Miocene, then alluvial deposits in Pleistocene until recent. Geological structure domain in the study area: Bendung Domain, and Bunderan Domain. Geological history of research area influenced by geological process such as tectonism and volcanism and also denudation. | en_US |
