    Abstract
This research is about to design water-based mud to minimize the risk of bit balling problem in Barrier-01 Well. The objective of this research is to know about the effect of lubricant X, KCl Polymer, and Polyamine and determine which additives will be used in water-based mud to decrease the accretion level and minimize the risk of bit balling problem. The Barrier-01 Well data have been analyzed and the compositions KCl polymer, Polyamine and Lubricant X have been selected. The selected designs are tested in laboratory with accretion test method. The results show that the most significant additives that used in water-based mud to decrease the accretion level for Barrier-01 Well is by adding Potassium Chloride and Polyamine
