Studi ZnO Nanosheet (ZnO-NS) dan ZnO-NS Tersensitisasi Dye (Dye-ZnO-NS) sebagai Fotoanoda Sistem Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting
Abstract
This research focuses on photoanode synthesis based on ZnO nanosheets (ZnO-NS) with the aim of studying the photoelectrochemical of the growth of ZnO-NS by electrodeposition and after dye sensitization (D205) at various time. The variation of electrodeposition time in ZnONS synthesis was 10, 25, 50, 75, and 100 minutes. Morphological identification showed that the nanosheet structure was successfully synthesized with the formation of by-products in the form of zinc acetate hydrate (ZAH) and zinc acetate nitrate (ZNH). After annealing at 400oC, the sheet structure looks sturdier and sharper at the edges of the sheet. In addition, the byproducts formed were also successfully converted into ZnO. The sensitization of ZnO-NS using dye-loading (D205) was carried out at various immersion times at 1, 10, and 100 minutes. Photoelectrochemical studies using the LSV method showed that 50 minutes of ZnO-NS electrodeposition and 10 minutes of dye-loading gave the most optimum photoconversion efficiency (PCE) values, 2.5% at -0.18 V and 3.33% at -0.28 V respectively. The efficiency value which has only a small increase is possible due to the presence of dye D205 dissolved in the electrolyte (0.1 M NaOH) during the test. The ZnO-NS test (50 min) and after dye loading (10 minutes) using the Amperometric Detection (AD) method at a voltage of 0.4 V respectively gave a current density value of 0.08 mA/cm2 and 0.09 mA/ cm2
