This research is about the design of drilling mud on the surface and intermediate section of the SIMON Field to determine the drilling mud system and additive composition that is good for dealing with existing formation problems. The method used is laboratory testing. The results show that the designed drilling mud can meet the specifications required for further drilling in the development of the SIMON Field. The additive composition of the drilling fluid is 284.48 cc of water, 0.09 cc of biocide, 0.25 gr Na2CO3, 8 gr Bentonite, 6 gr Starch, 0.75 gr Xanthan Gum, 10.7 gr 3% KCL, 58 gr CaCO3, 65 gr Barite, 0.15 gr NaOH, 10 grams of Micronized Organic Cellulose Fiber, 5 grams of Sulfonated Asphalt. The use of barite is 65 grams for the surface section and 85 grams for the intermediate section because of the section depth difference.en_US
