This research study is located in Kutai Basin, East Kalimantan, especially the “Mawar” Field. This basin began to form in the Eocene age due to the expansion of the Makassar Strait and the basin filled in the Early Miocene due to the existence of inversion tectonic that forms many elevations in Kalimantan. This study aims to determine the indications of the shoreface environment seen from its location on the off-axis Makahakam Delta and to find out the paleogeographic history in Early Middle Miocene until the middle age of the Miocene. The data used in this study are well data and data seismic wells. The method used is to integrate well data and seismic, therefore it is necessary to analyze well facies data and interpret seismic facies to produce a paleogeographic map. The well data used in this study are 14 wells with direction NW – SE which is traversed by a seismic and in the NW – SE direction traversed by 4 seismic lines with 8 wells divided by 4 wells further south and 4 wells further north. The research area has an early Middle Miocene to Middle Miocene age which has four marker sequence boundaries with facies that are proven to have a shoreface depositional environment with facies elements including: inner marine shelf, barrier island, lagoon, tidal bar, channel, and tidal flat.en_US
