This research is about analyzing the performance of CO2 Immiscible water alternating gas injection (CO2 – IWAG) by considering the influence of geomechanics on the simulation results of the CO2 pilot project area of the UP Field. Optimum design of CO2 – IWAG injection is obtained by performing sensitivity on well perforation, fluids injection rate, WAG ratio, and WAG cycle. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data which are processed quantitatively with tNavigator software. Primary data in the form of dynamic reservoir model data and secondary data in the form of geomechanical parameter data and CO2 – WAG parameter configuration. The results show that the most influential design parameter on oil recovery is the WAG ratio and injection rate with an increase in oil recovery of 0,15% and the optimum design CO2 – IWAG increases oil recovery by 4,55% from the base case. The low effectiveness of CO2 – IWAG in increasing oil recovery is due to the high reservoir permeability and low oil viscosity. In addition, the coupled geomechanics simulation of the optimum CO2 – IWAG design resulted in a total oil and gas production of 650 Mstb and 390 MMscf lower than the compositional simulation. The decrease in total oil and CO2 gas production which is quite high from the coupling geomechanics simulation shows that reservoir rock deformation must be considered in the UP Field pilot project.en_US
