SINTESIS DAN KARAKTERISASI FOTOKATALIS ALUMINIUM TEREFTALAT/GRAPHITE OXIDE (AlBDC/GO) KOMPOSIT SEBAGAI PENDEGRADASI PEWARNA METIL ORANYE DALAM PELARUT AIR
Abstract
In this final project nanocomposite between metal-organic frameworks (MOF)
and graphite oxide (GO), specifically, AlBDC/GO was successfully synthesized
using the solvothermal method with Aluminum Nitrate (Al (NO3)3.9H2O) as the
source of Al ions and benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid (BDC) as the source of
organic ligan. After a series of procedures namely recovering and activating
AlBDC/GO, the sample was characterized by FTIR, SEM, and XRD. The as-
prepared AlBDC/GO nanocomposite has two types depending on different GO
weight concentrations, I.e., AlBDC/GO 2% wt. and AlBDC/GO 5% wt. These
materials together with AlBDC were used as photocatalysts for the
degradation of methylene orange (MO). Both AlBDC and AlBDC/GO
nanocomposites exhibited moderate photocatalytic activity both in UV-B light
and in sunlight irradiation. in UV light irradiation, AlBDC gave the best
photocatalytic performance with an 11,96% of degradation rate, while during
sunlight irradiation, the AlBDC/GO 5% wt. gave the best result in the
degradation rate of MO by 7.84%. these data were obtained after two hours of
irradiation.
