Bachelor thesis "Feasibility Study of One Phase Well Architecture in EL-09 Well: Technical and Economic Analysis."en_US
One Phase Well (OPW) is a well architecture with one phase drilling using only a diverter from surface to target depth. This research is about analyzing the technical and economic aspects of One Phase Well (OPW) to apply in EL-09 Well on Tunu Shallow Zone (TSZ) as an alternative to replace the high cost of existing well architecture, Shallow Light Architecture (SLA). The technical analysis is done by hydraulic modelling using WellPlan Landmark Software and analyzes the well barrier. In this research, the hydraulic modelling aims to design the optimum hydraulic program in the EL-09 well, producing good hole cleaning by choosing the optimum flow rate and total flow area (TFA). The economic analysis compares the material, drilling operation, and pre-production phase cost of OPW with an existing well SLA. The OPW will be chosen as an effective architecture to develop reserve from TSZ in EL-09 well if it can safely drill based on hydraulic, well barrier, and cost-saving. The rheological model used for hydraulic modelling is Herschel Buckley. The simulation was carried out on an 8-1/2" Open Hole with a total depth of 1,173 mMD. Based on the calculation from WellPlan Landmark Software, the optimum flow rate and total flow area obtained can give good hole cleaning in the open hole section. The ECD control, high gas decision tree, and loss circulation decision tree were obtained with the standard operating procedure of OPW. Compared to SLA, the estimated 25% cost saving is obtained by using OPW Architecture.en_US
