dc.description.abstract | One of the efforts to increase the efficiency of wood utilization and plastic recycling is by making composite boards from plastic. The purpose of this research is to make and determine the chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of wood polymer composite (WPC) with various compatibilizer formulations and variations in gamma-ray irradiation treatment. The fiber used in this study was empty fruit bunches of oil palm as a cellulose agent. The fiber characterization carried out was UTM (Universal Testing Machine) analysis, (FTIR) Fourier Transform Infra-Red, and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). WPC is made through a hot pressing process. Then, the chemical, physical, and mechanical properties were tested.
