    Abstract
The research area includes the Porong area, Sidoarjo, East Java. The research area is included in the Kendeng zone. This study aims to determine the hydrogeological conditions, groundwater quality due to the Sidoarjo Mud activity, and the direction of flow in the study area. The method used is the study of literature, analysis of the quality of the physical and chemical properties of groundwater, the geoelectric method, and analysis of the direction of groundwater flow. Based on the hydrogeological conditions, the research area occupies alluvium deposits of Holocene age, the research area enters the groundwater area with a well discharge of 5 to 10 liters/second with moderate productivity aquifers and wide distribution. Measurement of wells in the research area was 33 points. Conditions of physical and chemical properties of groundwater in the research area include TDS, pH, and temperature. Each measurement of the physical and chemical properties of groundwater in the study area produces an anomaly at the same dominant point. The TDS measurement has a value between 263.1 – 3765.7 ppm, a pH value between 6.11 – 7.89, and a temperature value between 30 -360C. The results of the research carried out obtained geoelectric data processing up to a depth of 175 meters, each measurement point contained five to six resistivity values. The measurement GL-01 – GL03 has three lithologies, namely clay, silt, and sand. Meanwhile, GL 04 – GL06 has four resistivity values, namely clay, silt, sand, and saltwater. The flow of groundwater in the study area is in a west-east direction.
