Textile dye waste that is in the environment has very dangerous non-biodegradable properties. In this study, zeolite was used as an effective and efficient alternative adsorbent to treat azo-type waste, namely methyl red dye waste. Natural zeolite activation was carried out with 3 M HCl solution and characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). While the adsorption process of methyl red was studied at variations in adsorbent weight, contact time, temperature and concentration. The results showed that the optimum conditions for adsorption of methyl red were achieved with an adsorbent weight of 0.8 g, a contact time of 60 minutes, a temperature of 70oC and a concentration of 50 ppm.en_US
