dc.description.abstract | This research is about optimizing casing design in horizontal wells where the results will be compared with existing designs. The intended optimization is evaluating the loading that occurs in each casing series, starting from burst, collapse, and tension loading. Calculation of kick tolerance is the main concern when designing the casing. Next, calculate the loading that occurs and calculate the biaxial tension effect to find out the rating changes that occur during burst and collapse loads. The casing design for the AR-02 well is chosen because this design has the advantage of choosing a lower casing grade. This design uses casing grade H-40 94ppf for casing 20”, H-40 48ppf and J-55 54.5ppf for casing 13 – 3/8”, N-80 40ppf for casing 9 – 5/8”, and J-55 20ppf for a 7” casing. This design is proven to be able to optimize the existing casing design according to the design principles, namely useful and safety. | en_US |
