This research was conducted in Ngargosari Village, Gerbosari Village, and Purwoharjo Village, Samigaluh District, Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region with the aim of knowing the geological conditions and reconstructing the geological history of the study area. In achieving this goal, analysis is carried out in the form of Geomorphological Analysis, Geologycal Analysis, and Distibution of Mineral Analysis. The method used in this research are the Initial Studio Stage including Topographic Feature Interpretation, Analysis of Straight Hills and Valley Patterns, Slope Analysis, and River Flow Pattern Analysis, then the Field Data Collection Stage which includes Geological Mapping and Geomorphological Observations, and the Laboratory Analysis Stage includes Petrographic Observations and Analysis Kinematics of Geological Structures. The geomorphology of the study area has three types of units, namely, Caldera Product Unit, Caldera Ridge Unit, and Lava Flow Unit. The stratigraphy of the study area is divided into three in order from old to young, namely, Late Oligocene – Early Miocene Lava Flow Units, Andesite, Limestone Units (Early Miocene – Middle Miocene), and Breccia Units (Late Miocene). The results of the structure obtained in the kinematics analysis of the structure are in the form of main stress direction trending Northwest - Southeast.
