    Abstract
OPTIMIZATION OF FLAVONOID COMPOUND EXTRACTION FROM MORINGA LEAVES METHOD ULTRASONIC Moringa oleifera L. leaves are an herbal plant known to contain flavonoid compounds that are beneficial for health. This study aims to optimize the flavonoid extraction process from Moringa leaves using the ultrasonic extraction method and to characterize the compounds obtained. Extraction was carried out with methanol solvent and varying extraction times. The presence of flavonoids was tested using phytochemical tests and thin layer chromatography (TLC). Total flavonoid levels were determined by the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method using quercetin as a standard at a wavelength of 433 nm, while of functional groups of the compounds were analyzed using FTIR. The results showed that the ultrasonic extraction method produced higher flavonoid levels and was also optimal in time compared to the maceration method with a shorter extraction method produced higher flavonoid levels and was also optimal in time compared to the maceration method with a shorter extraction time. Phytochemical and TLC tests indicated the presence of flavonoids, while FTIR results revealed typical flavonoid functional groups such as O-H, aromatic C=C, and C-O. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the ultrasonic extraction method is more effective for extracting flavonoids from moringa leaves.
